Call Forward Attendant Console/Extension

First time working with an attendant console. we only have one and I know its extension. I want to be able to call forward the attnd aka "operator" console to another internal desk extension to cover for meetings,lunches and sick days. Is it as easy as putting a call forward button on the attdnt phone itself and having the operator activate the button when needed? or is there something I am missing here?

You cannot call-forward an attendant console-period.
 
If you are using attendant vectoring you could point the queue-fail statement to goto the backup extension.

we are not using attendant vectoring, at least I dont think so ... is there any other alternative ?
