BCM450 - Forwarding to Long Distance Code

I am trying to forward to my cell phone from our system that requires a 4 digit long distance code to be added after getting the oustide line. I tried step in thread1361-1699544. But they did not seem to work for me or I don't understand all the steps.

Scenario
Local exchange: 215
Cell number exchange: 561
Long Distance Code: 1234(example)
BCM 450 Version 6.0 / Phones IP 1230

Phone is being forwarded to 8888.... there is timer on internal call phone, but nothing happens and the call does not go through.

Question 1 - Can you dial your cell from your desk successfully?

Question 2 - What is the deal with route 3? (external number is added IN FRONT OF whatever the user dials)

Question 3 - Are you prompted for the code before or after you dial the destination phone number?

You mean the issue is Dest code of 9 is in the route 003 for some reason correct SD?

-Setup a new route and new dest code not being used by anyone.
i.e.:
- Dest Code is 8 and told to use Route 003
- Route 003, is told to dial 1561-xxx-xxxxPP1234 (not I removed the dest code at front)
- Forward phone to 8

Done.

You should test this with a local number, once test ok you know routing is working and then play with this string: 1561-xxx-xxxxPP1234
You may need more pauses, depends on your LD carrier.....count the seconds (P = 1.5 secs)

Example of password first (I would think):
PP1234PP1561-xxx-xxxx

Are you trying to forward using routing or using Feature 4 at the telephone? Trying to use phone system forwarding feature on phone.

If you're trying to use routing I don't see a des code configured to use route 3.
Assuming you're using des code 6789 you need to configure it to use route 3. 6789 is the code I have to put in to dial long distance.

Almost there. Followed steps below provided by CurlyCord.(Thanks) It works for outside calls, but internally you still have to enter the long distance access code. Preference would be just the opposite. Anyone have any additional thoughts?

- Route 003, is told to dial 1561-xxx-xxxxPP1234 (not I removed the dest code at front)
- Forward phone to 8

Did you play with the dial string?
How many seconds after you dial the last digit of the phone number until the last word spoken asking you to enter the password? (or the point you are allowed).
That will determine how many pauses you add into the dial string.

Also please be more specific as to what happens with the call.

What dial string did you try in the route?

A called received from the outside works.

An internal call still requires the code. I have programmed in as much as 6 seconds But it still will not work for internal calls without the long distance code. IF you type in a long distance code, the call works.

The Dial String: 1561-xxx-xxxxPPPP1234

Yes. We have 4 digit internal extensions that we used for calling internally.

An access code is only required if someone is making a long distance call. It is not required for calling other extensions or local calls.

What is it, exactly, that you want to be able to do?

Sorry me try to clarify.

A. The extension for a phone set is 3333.
B. Phone set 3333 is forwarded to 8888 which routes to 1561-xxx-xxxxPPPP1234

Scenario A.

1. Employee at extension 3335 calls 3333
2. Employee is asked to enter the Long Distance Code
3. Valid long distance code added
4. Connection is made to 1561-xxx-xxxxPPPP1234

Scenario B.
1. Vendor calls from outside line
2. Goes through prompts and enters extension 3333
3. Connection is made to 1561-xxx-xxxxPPPP1234

I am trying to avoid steps 2 and 3 in Scenario A.

If 3335 just dials 8888 they are required to provide the 4 digit long distance code.
