I have an analog phone, ext 3489.
When a call comes into the main operator, the caller asks for ext 3489.
The operator transfers them to 3489.
If the 3489 person is not on the phone, they pick up, so everything is good.
If the 3489 person is not there, it rings 5 times and then bounces back to the operator, not good.

I want it to go into their voicemail.
Why is their voicemail not picking up?

The call needs a cover path.........go in create a cover path and assign it to the station.....look at another station to see a cover path that already goes to vm

They have a coverage path.
It goes straight to vmail.

I have the same coverage path and it works on my station 3395.

Stat sta xxxx see if they have coverage options activated

When I type "stat st 3489" I get "Active Coverage Option: 1

just getting ready to leave office...........do you have the same status? if so then we need to rethink.

yes i do.

thank you very much for your help and time!
maybe we can solve it tomorrow?

O.K. I'm leaving now......a few more thoughts 1 check the voice mail system you have make sure they are in there 2 there is an audix field that needs to be filled in (if that's what you are using) good luck I will check back sometime this evening

yes, i am using audix.
they do have a vmail box, and it is working.

ok, I stand corrected.
I put that coverage path onto a different ext and it does the same bad thing.
so it much be something with that coverage path.
sorry to mislead you.

both cover path 1 and cover path 5 have all the exact smae settings.
why does it do different things?

checked in at home before i went to night school?? some other thoughts........1 disp sta xxxx 2nd page half way down on left side there should be a field for audix that needs to be filled in compare to a sta thats similar and works thats how i started to learn............2 disp cov path x read what they both are doing(good and bad)possible they are going different routes..........3check their soft programming buttons if it is a digital phone they may have set something up...........will check in later

below is the bad one, why not end in vmail?

display coverage path 5

below is a good one.
When I place coverage path 1 on my station, it works just fine.
When I place coverage path 5 on my stat, it works incorrectly.

what is the difference between the good one and the bad one compare the two.

they are exactly the same, except for number of rings

o.k. maybe we are barking up the wrong tree you may need to look at the vm system and subscriber

here's where i am at now.

i am only dealing with my own extension 3395.

if i put coverage path 1 (the good one) it works just fine.
if i put coverage path 5 (bad one) it works wrong.

so it must be the coverage path?
other than changing my cov path, my station doesnt change at all.

could it still be the vmail or the station?

yes it could be the vm system....the sta (or sub for vm) may have a few issues....on the pbx side... the bad cover path has all the same settings as the good one even the hunt group that they are sent to so???? make sure this is not happening randomly any where else in your system as this could be an indication of a failing port......on the vm side.... full box? very little recording time?.... but i doubt that since they would have a problem even with the new cover path assigned to them. the good thing is that you found the issue and were able to correct it thus you seem to be the phone hero to your people and hey that is always good.in the end i would just disregard that cover path if you can and no other issues present themselves.

i setup a new coverage path.
cover path 10.
all it does is go to h25, just like my good cover path 1.
problem is that cover path 10 acts just the same as 5 does.

how to I setup a cover path to just go to vmail?
do i have to use h25 for a coverage point?
Or is there something else?

i dont want to covert the people that use cover path 5 to use cover path 1 because they still want 5 ring before vmail.

so i need to figure out a way to create a cover path that has 5 rings before vmail.
