I have an analog phone, ext 3489.
When a call comes into the main operator, the caller asks for ext 3489.
The operator transfers them to 3489.
If the 3489 person is not on the phone, they pick up, so everything is good.
If the 3489 person is not there, it rings 5 times and then bounces back to the operator, not good.

I want it to go into their voicemail.
Why is their voicemail not picking up?

bring up the good and bad hunt group......dip hunt group xxx and compare......however i think you have ruled out the vm system and that is a good thing

did you ever sort this out. I am getting the same problem now

Did you ever think about the transfer return timer.
I think it kicks in earlier the a coverpath with is set to 5 ring.

? You can administer the system to return a transferred call to the originator if the transferred-to party does not answer within a set time limit. To do this, enter a value in the Station Call Transfer Recall Timer field on the Feature-Related System Parameters screen.

yes, i was able to fix this issue.
I dont remember exactly, but i thought it had to do something with:
disp stat xxxx
on the 3rd page there was a setting, coverage after forward.
i changed that setting to "s"

i think that is what cleared up my issue.

please let me know if this helps you or not.
if it doesnt, i will try to remember more of the fix for you.

If you decrease the number of rings in the coverage path, does it work then? Sounds to me that the recall timer is met before the 5 rings sending the caller to vmail.

busster is right!
that's what is was for me.
i forget the specific commands, but i had to up the timer to allow the ringing to last longer, to get the 5 rings to complete.
once that was done, it went to vmail like it should.

my problem is the call does go to voicemail but a different voicemail number. Original voicemail is 8174 but it sends 8196 to Audix. I have looked at the logs and Audix definitely sees this coming from the switch. There was no mailbox and that's why it was going back toreception. Now that I have created mailbox 8196, audix asnwers. Very strange behaviour

8174 cover path is to voicemail but Audix sees 8196 coming in.

do you have a routing table pointing 8174 to 8196?
