I have a customer that wants to change the Vmail button to go to there third party vmail instead of dialing *17. Has any done this before and how???
I know I can setup a button on there phones but they are using it today in CM and would like to keep this feature.

Thanks

When you change the VM type it changes where the button goes for you, click Help when looking at the voicemail tab and that will explain more :)

What kind of voicemail is it? How is it setup to connect to the ip office?

You could change the voicemail type to "group" and have a member/members in that group go to the outside voicemail. I've used that with old duvoice systems if I remember correctly (but probably don't). Ya know, some of those old ones connected via analog.

I used to be an ACE. Now I'm just an Arse.

Im using Vmail pro for all my meet me mods and Zcomm contact center for Vmail. I know you can change the 46xx file for other phone types but not 96xx phones.

Whay are you using the Zcomm at all? All VM Pro mailboxes are fully customisable :)

Based on whose/what advice/requirements? Good advice is free and far more use/valuable to a customer than a part crippled/half working system that they insist on just because they were ill informed or acting on incorrect assumptions/sales pitches.

Just trying to save you headaches and probably your customer(s) some money :)

I think you have to disable visual Voicemail and customize the *17 short code

You cannot mix VM Types like this, hence my part crippled/half working comment :)

How are calls routed to third party Voicemail? Via short code?

If yes you can adjust the leave and collect start point in VMPro.

It's the messages button he wants to re-direct, so you need to change VM type, that stops you directing the system to the VM IP address, so breaking VM Pro :)

derfloh I think you got it. Just waiting for customer to test. I changed the collect start point to transfer to my third party vmail number and it looks like its going to work.

Thanks everyone.
