Curious as to what the "other system activity" is. Have you opened the System Status to see what this mysterious activity is? There really is no reason why a "merge" should not load.

No alarms eh, I would make sure the computer where the "manager" resides is statically configured and the same address is set for "Manager PC" in the system tab.

File writer and Manager PC should be the static address of the "manager" computer. File writer is used for writing files to the sd card, but you really want only one machine for both.

Try a hard reboot, I have seen this before where a previous merge did not fully complete, and the system will not acccept a new config while the other one is still 'merging'. Check Monitor and you should see an error message.

I had this issue, as BFG9K mentioned. Pull the plug and restart.

Team, Thanks for your support. I have restarted the system as well as modified File Writer IP Address, now the issue has been resolved . I hope it will not come back.

It most likely will. We ended up doing a chassis replacement to a site that was doing this every 2/3 weeks.

not arrogant, just succinct.

when the IPO starts doing weird shit like this, I just reboot the damn thing, if you can't reboot from manager (because merge is bugged) try rebooting from SSA or web manager, or you can just angrily pull that power cord, tell it off, and then turn it on.
