We are a business that took over which has a AT&T 206E and a Avaya 206E modules I was just wondering does it have voice mail? I called the number to the line and after awhile it seems to have a fax sound that answers?

I assume it has caller ID because the phone number calling shows up on the phone however no name.. the phones are the Avaya 18D

I just want to know if it does not have voice mail does it come with a module that offers it?

This is on the modules

AT&T 206E R3.1
Avaya 206E 4.0

That's the one.

My suspicion is that incorrect ports are assigned to Hunt Group #7. Also check to make sure no extension has line ownership of the telephone lines.

Try this...

At an extension, program an Intercom button for Ext #78 & one for #79. Call in and see if either one is answering the test calls.

Can I see what port is programmed? I'm a little confused on the port programming like you saying to programming the intercom for 78 & 79

For me when I do F00 + it says Program Extension 11 I don't understand what I should press next to say program the intercom to 78 or 79

After that, press an unassigned programmable button, one of the Intercom buttons followed by "78". Repeat with another button for 79. [smile]

Ok I did that and what happens is when I call in 78 & 79 causes the line to be in use.

Ok I take that back I did those codes and it rings however should the automated VMS be coming on? Or is it just not set for the number of rings for that setting?

The codes I gave you simply put the voicemail ports into the correct hunt group, to stop "when I call the line it rings once and a voice message says the party is not available"

Now, for each line that should be answered by the automated attendant, do #206-7-(Line Number)-1 (Line Number is 2 digits)

The number of rings before the auto attendant answers is set in #506-7-(1=Day Mode/2=Night Mode)-(Line Number)-X
