Hello,

I am administering 50+ computers and would like advice on configuring new installations. We are running Windows XP Professional Corporate edition in a Windows Server 2003 environment and I'd like to slip stream it to have the latest updates and a default configuration with predefined applications, services, and menus. Basically, I'm trying to create a uniform desktop environment on all machines.

Thanks,
dao

For slipstreaming and creating bootable CD's, check out
Also, be sure to check out the "Support/Deploy" folder on the CD for the sysprep utility. You can create a "fully automated" install that does everything from setting the name of the computer, the license key to joining to a domian.

You can even set this up for a RIS installation where the PC's will go across the network at boot time to install the OS so you DON'T have to boot from a CD.

I definately reccomend banging on that a while before you do your deployment.

I thank all of your for the information. It has been helpful.
