When a huntgroup is called, the collective group rings staggered. Some phones start to ring and then about .5 seconds in other phones start to ring. It is like a casino!! very confusing to the customer. Is this a DS30 thing? saving resources??
Its is a jumbled up sound in this very open floor plan. Everyone has the same ringtones.

Are you using line appearances by chance?

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

I sure am. They haven't made the SIP jump yet. But, they will.

there is a great FAQ for line appearances

large collective ring groups are also usually a sign that the customer has not though things through with regards to there operation.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Just because you have analog lines does not mean you have to use line appearances... in fact you should not EVER use line appearances.. The system is not designed to work that way and you will run into countless bugs trying to use them. If they are going to eventually have SIP there is no reason they can't get use to using 9N to dial out now. Remove a few extension's line appearances and create a group with just them and see if that resolves the issue.

As you can see we are all the same opinion.
Line appearance is not a good scenario for the IP Office.
Not necessarily bad for the customer with other systems but the IPO is behaving just odd when line appearances are used.
