Hi - having a rough time with Mitels at the min!!!!

I have a 3300 mxe rel 8 ur 5
When calling a number of IP handsets intermittently (several times a day) the ip phone doesnt ring, the call goes straight to voicemail but i then get " the mailbox is full there is no room for new msgs" message. Event though the mailbox is empty.
So far:-
DBMS check run ok, no errors.
Rebooted the controller
Deleted and recreated the user

Issue still occuring

Any ideas please????????

First off, go to the Voice Mailbox Configuration form, then export the data to a spreadsheet. Look at the New/Saved/Max columns and you should be able to see what mailbox it's sending to.

I'm assuming that the mailbox that you are saying is empty is the one associated with the set that you are trying to call. Most likely this isn't where the call is being routed, so it stands to reason that it's mailbox is empty. Hopefully seeing what mailbox IS full will help figure out where the call is being routed to.

spot on Irwin.
Should of worked it out really, calls are coming in via nametag huntgroups to a console and then are been transferred. When the call goes to voicemail it goes to the vm of the nametag hunt group - not the user.

Thanks for the assistance always appreciated.

No problem.

Makes sense I guess, if you have calls arriving at the same time, the second will get forwarded to voicemail, which is why it was intermittent.....or something like that. I don't follow that fancy call routing at all.

The solution doesn't seem to match the reported problem.

How would this problem be intermittant.

How would the problem prevent the phone from ringing and instead go straight to VM.

I can understand how the call was ending up in a different MB with Nametag groups involved but can you explain the other 2? Just so I can fully understand, just curious.

As I indicated, I'm not savvy to the huntgroup nametags, so I don't know how they work, but on the surface if you have calls coming into one point (the console) by whatever means (nametags) then if it is busy it will get directed to voicemail.

The intermittent bit applies if two people call in at the same time, it would occur, otherwise calls get forwarded as usual.

Thanks Irwin.

In return, there's not much to know about Nametag groups other than that they replace the original called digits with respect to Voicemail integration.

I wrote a half decent FAQ on the subject.

kwbMitel,
I'd be interested in seeing your FAQ. Where do you have it posted?
