3300 MXe iii running MVB 8.0 Pr2 new install with ASUII and system wont recognize the ASU.

It only shows the AMB as being installed, not the ASUii.

This is a new install, i upgraded the system from 7.2 to 8.0 (14.0.0.95)

The cim port shows up, but the module type says unknown.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric

Are you using the cable that shipped with the ASU ? If not..... this is not should not be a standard ethernet cable. It should be a cross over cable.

What is the status of the lights on the ASU II and the CIM port ?

Can you clarify "cim port shows up, but the module type says unknown." ? What form are you seeing this on ?
Are you saying that on "Hardware -> Modules -> Analog Service Units" it says installed type is "unknown" ? or something else?

Sorry, to clarify i see that when I run the maint command "display asu info" as shown below.

When I look under hardware, module, asu it says "No Unit Present"

The CIM port lights on the 3300 side are solid green on left and solid yellow on the right of the ASU cable port. Then on the ASU side they are both solid green.

sorry to get your hopes up but im having the same issue. im on 8.0 SP3 though. did you ever find a solution?

upgrade bootrom all

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Yes, It was a new known asu issue, it requires replacing the ASUII. Unlike the first ASU mass failure, the status light comes up and looks right under this connection failure, however if you do Status ASU ALL from maint, it will show the first CIM port down, if thats the case, gotta replace ASUII. As soon as I hooked up the new one, it came up almost instantly, thats how it should be.

The upgrade all command will only update the ASU firmware, if the CIM status is up, I have learned alot since this original post lol.

Godspeed!
