Hi,

I am currently trying to run two subnets off of one IPO 500 unit. I think this is possible... but I am getting some funny errors.

The IPO resides at 192.168.200.220
The other subnet is 192.168.100.xxx

Network info from .200.xxx:
VM Pro Server: 192.168.200.9
IPO 500: 192.168.200.220
Gateway to .100.xxx network: 192.168.200.20

Network info from .100.xxx:
Gateway to .200.xxx nework: 192.168.100.1

I also setup a route in the config:
IP Address: 192.168.100.0
IP Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway IP Address: 192.168.200.20
Destination: LAN1
Metric: 1 (what is this value?)

I am using Avaya 5610 phones, and cannot seem to set them correctly...
The info on here is:
IP: Anything on the .100.xxx network
CallSv: 192.168.200.220 (IPO 500 unit)
CallSvPort: 1719 (default)
Router: 192.168.100.1
Mask: 255.255.255.0
FileSv: 192.168.200.9

When it restarts with these settings, it hangs and displays:
Discover 192.168.200.220

Anyone have any ideas? I am starting to feel stuck.
Thanks so much

What if you take your phone out and stick a PC in its place, giving it the IP of the Phone. Can you ping the IP Office/Gateway etc.

why do you need 2 subnets???

From the .100 network, I can ping anything on the .200 network. I am, however, having problems pinging the .100 components from the .200 network... Maybe it's just a routing issue? I don't know yet.

The other subnet is for a separate division within the company I work for. We don't want the divisions to have access to the same file stores, etc (they actually are two separate domains)

I've been looking over the routes in the IPO config, and on our actual router... and it all looks fine to me.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I would suggest in that case you need to sort that routing issue out first.
Once you can ping every thing both ways then try again.
Your IP Route looks ok to me, without having a think about it. Im telephony really and still learning with routing/ips.

do a tracert from each network and find out where its stopping.

use the LAN 1 & LAN 2 of the IPO and have phones in both IP ranges. You will need TFTP servers in both subnets

Have you tried an entry like this in the IP Routes

Ip 0.0.0.0
Subnet 0.0.0.0
Gateway= Your router
Destination LAN1

I'd look at the gateway betwee the 2 lans. I looks like you don't have aroute to the 200 network (or back again)

Take Care

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

hey, thanks for everyone's help!
it turns out it's just a router issue between the subnets... the .200 traffic was being redirected to a different gateway!

for reference though, the above entry into the IPO unit was necessary:

"
IP Address: 192.168.100.0
IP Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway IP Address: 192.168.200.20
Destination: LAN1
Metric: 1
"

Thanks!
