A lot of the trouble comes from having to much resource available.. back in the early 8 bit (yes that far back!!) days you had to cram a whole lot of stuff into such little space. result.. optimised code that achieved what was needed. come to today, and you have massive space and little time...

I have converte one of my old 840 phasers to an 850 board and chip. it prints fine, lovely colour and piccys, but two faults remain. one is it will not double sided print, despite it being selected on the menu. I thought they were all capable of double sided printing p providing the 850 board...

I had the following code thrown up by the phaser 850 today it starts up, and asks for a cleaning sheet, goes through the startup cycle- drum etc and then does nothing, aftyer about 30 minutes it gives the above any ideas?? Mart

Well gave the 850 an extended run today .. haha it gave two errors, 22 500 00 20673 13 011 63 20673 i have deduced that the last block is the page count, i performed a power off / on as suggested on the xerox site, the faults appear to have cleared, but the printer just sits there...

Ok i have fired up the printers with varying results... the 840 with the hard drive powered up ans asked for letter sized cleaning paper, took me a while to work out which plug was the correct one on the trays to fill to get it going,, it took that and shot out the page of lines.. so far so...
