We have removed Oracle 7.3 ODBC drivers from our standard operating environment installations, and the only oracle ODBC drivers available will be "Oracle in OraHome92" and "Microsoft ODBC for Oracle". Still, we have an old Oracle database in use and I am trying to connect to it using an MS...
Hi DrakeMiller,
You should be able to install the font into Windows OS by copying the font into C:\Windows\Fonts\
From memory, the driver installation for the TMT88III should automatically do that for you.
As for the command to make the printer use a specific font, I have no idea - it is...
Small Business Server 2003, Arcserve R11.1
Hi,
We are getting the following warning:
AW0004 Failed to open file <C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\CONFIG\enterprisesec.config.cch.3452.95344125>. RC=5, Access is denied.
From my research, I have found that the file indicated in the...
Hi,
I had problems with my old video card at bootup so i replaced it with a new FX 5500.
I installed the latest driver but I could not set up dual view to get both of my monitors running at the same time. Every time I attempt to choose the option, I get an error 106. Does anyone know what this...
Hi Moldboy,
You would probably be hard pressed to find a suitable fan like to fit your card. Your best bet is to just replace the entire heatsink/fan assembly. They are usually attached to the vga adapter board with some metal clip things... i don't know what best to call them, but I'm sure...
Thanks for the reply Neill,
Simple/stupid is good - any suggestion is a good suggestion, but we do indeed clean the tape heads at least once a week - we certainly clean the heads more often than the tape drive asks us to.
It seems the backup is almost stopping on some files - rather small and...
Thanks for the replies guys,
It's not a problem with the drive, and it's nothing to do with fragmentation. It doesn't have anything to do with lots of small files.
I know this because one of the drives i am talking about (containing 50GB of data) used to back up in 1 hr 40 mins prior to...
I am currently running a test backup job and I have noticed that the backup stops at certain files. It is currently stopped on CRiadx09r.dll, which is a Crystal Reports runtime dll. Whilst the job is seemingly frozen, the tape drive shows no activity - as if there were no job running. It has...
Hi
Arcserve 11.5
Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Arcserve server + Exabyte VXA-2 tape drive)
Windows Advanced Server 2000 (arcserve client + BAOF)
We just upgraded from SBS2000 with Arcserve 11.1. Our nightly backup job backs up the small business server and the advanced server. We have...
Thanks for the link. After searching through it for the word 'automatic', i now realise what a terrible question i asked.
To rephrase the question - When I set a workstation's DNS in TCP/IP properties to "Obtain DNS server address automatically", where does it get the address from?
-vic
Hi,
Just a simple question:
How does automatic DNS work? does it get the DNS ip from DHCP?
The answer has been eluding me, being lost in a jumble of a million irrelevant hits for automatic and dns and work...
Cheers!
-vic
Thanks. I have tried that already.
I have also tried the following positions for the placement of the second row:
* just below the first row
* in a subreport below the first
* in a subreport in page header b
I have also tried using formulas instead of just text boxes, inserting chr(10)...
Hi,
I am using crystal reports 8.5. I am trying to create a CSV file while has a header with two rows:
"HEADING1","HEADING2","HEADING3","HEADING4"
"HEADINGa","HEADINGb","HEADINGc","HEADINGd"
which is then followed by detail. However, no matter what I try, I can only seem to get it all on the...
Cheers guys
I will see if i can find a newer card... maybe some shop will let me buy one and let me return it if it doesnt help me. Also, I'm yet to try out an old matrox card which has mpeg2 decoding built in, but I'm not sure whether it has 4 or 8 megs of memory...
I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the responses guys
i want to play divx, xvid etc and not just dvds. is that what you mean when you say yours could play videos?
I am going to steal some older pci video cards from work and see how it goes. I have no idea what type of old video cards they are......
cheers

Hi,
I have an old K6 machine, i think it runs at about 400Mhz... I want to make a HTPC out of it. In the current configuration, it does not decode movies very well - it's a bit laggy/choppy. The cheapest solution i can think of is to buy a new PCI graphics card to stick into it. Will this...
Thanks LB,
I tried to see if I could eliminate the need for subreports, but I couldn't. I like the idea of redesigning so that the main report becomes the subreport, but that would take too much time if it is indeed possible, and I think our client would rather just have two files to choose...
