I should be able to shear and implement perspective using this tool, but it refuses to do anything but rescale and rotate, as per a regular selection.
I've looked in help, but no luck.

any ideas?

Sorry, I should've explained it a bit better. Sounds like you are not familiar with the "Transform Each" tool.
Imagine you have a grid of ten dots by ten dots, and you want each dot to reduce in size, but still retain their own position.
Your method scales the dots down as a group...
Illustrator has a neat little function called "Transform Each", which enables you to change the scale or orientation of multiple, ungrouped objects at once.
I can't seem to find a comparable feature in ID. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Yeah, I know.
But it'd be neat if they did have that feature. Wny can't they just integrate advanced vector drawing into a layout program - hence bypassing the need to import vector graphics.
Why?!!
Is it possible to somehow do this in order to create an accurate mask using an image to define the masked areas?
Something along the lines of copying and image directly into the maks channel (I tried this but it doesn't work).
Actually, I might try to just paste a single channel into the layer...
Sorry Itchy, that's not really what I mean.
If you were to re-adjust the text box later, then all of your linebreaks would re-flow. The idea of the non-breaking space is to retain combinations of words, even after altering text boxes, adjusting fonts etc.
Thanks anyway.
Sometimes I have to output print jobs in Illlustrator - It would be really handy if there was a feature that would automatically bundle all of the images and fonts used in the document into a single output folder - just as per the InDesign "Package" feature. Or if you are still using Quark...
In InDesign there is a feature called "Nonbreaking Space" (Type>Insert White Space>Nonbreaking Space).
This is the proper way to force a line break (as opposed to a soft return) - the benefit being that if your text is to reshuffle at some later point, you will not end up with strange...
Inevitably whenever I build a file which has a lot of points, Illy starts to lag considerably re. screen re-freshes, saving etc.
Is their anyway that I can improve the performance of the app. in these sort of situation? (like "proxy" view on InDesign, for better performance)
Ok, I'll rephrase my question:
How come my PDF looks fine onscreen, but the areas of my document which contain overlaid transparent bitmaps are partially not printing???
