You have to hit the space bar, just as the "Running Post" is just about finished. That should get you into the bootrom. Once there, you want to type config none, then reboot. It's all in the timing of hitting the space bar just at the right time.
Since the config is held by the master switch in the stack, you din't need to back it up, although it won't hurt. What you need to do is:
1)Unconfigure the node you are replacing:
unconfigure stacking slot x
2) remove the node you are replacing
3)Add the new switch to the stack:
configure...
We regularly change this in the AD Users and Computers Remote Control tab. Just uncheck "Require User's Permission". User will have to log off for the setting to take affect.
Hi all,
Looking for some general info on anyone that has successfully set up a Windows Server 2003 cluster on an HP c7000 blade system. Specifically, how did you set up the "heartbeat" between the 2 servers and what are you using for shared storage?
Thanks in advance.
When you set up Symantec Anti-Virus server, you are asked to specify a password for Symantec. Whoever set that up should know. The default login is admin and password symantec. Try that first.
I'm not the one that posted the question. I was just adding what I knew to the question posted by pmaeperez. We use Premium Accounting 2007 with pervasive 9 database engine. We orgignally had Complete Accounting and Peachtree support told us that it would not run on Terminal Server. we had to...
You should utilize Group Policy along with the published application. Not sure exactly what you want to prevent, but if, for example, you don't want users to see the C drive in Explorer, you can lock that down in a group policy. For example, we have a Lockdown Policy that doesn't allow uers to...
I agree with tfg13. This is more of a network issue than a Windows 2003 issue, since the server can be RDP'd into from the local lan. Packets are getting dropped at either the local or remote router to that particular server. Not sure of your network steup, but maybe one of the routers has an...
What I wound up doing was utilizing the Organization Tab in Active Directory and assign the correct company field to the users. Then from the Exchange Management Console, I updated the address list using the wizard and created a rule where "Company = ABC".
What I originally tried to do was use...
Some of our address lists got messed up when migrating from Exchange 2000 to 2007. I need to include members of an address list based on their SMTP address. Basically, I want to say:
ComapanyA address list contains any members whose email address is *@CompanyA.com
CompanyB address list...
Not real familiar with Vista yet, but if there is an XP machine there you can log onto and try, then you can rule out if it is a Vista issue.
My guess is that they tightened up the Group Policies on the domain. Doesn't matter if you are a domain admin, they can still apply policies to you.
The only other personal info that I can offer is that we upgraded from Metaframe XP to 4.5 64 bit and upgraded our hardware. We cut the number of Terminal Servers in half from 10 to 5. Initially, of course, there was money to lay out for the intial investmaent. But maintenance, heat and power...
When the user logs on, does he receive any messages, or is anything logged in Event Viewer? It should give a better understanding of what the problem is.
Don't create a new folder for the user. Just delete the old profile. Let the system create the roaming profile folder on the server the first time he logs on. See if that does anything.
