Sounds like it has no position data or someone deleted the station and forgot to delete position data first...if thats the case you need to use another set 0of numbers or have NEC get it out of your database...
If it has a floppy drive then it has a small hard drive inside the CPU the size of a matchbook, make sure its attached good. If you still are having troubles you may need a hard drive or complete CPU?
Thats the problem with a single system...you can't identify the trouble.

YOu stated the NEC is connected to other buildings...are their other 2000's at these locations?, are the calls causing these issus from extensions from those other sites? If it is a NEC networked configuration (CCIS)then the calls should terminate and give you the correct messages. If not and...
All depends if your IPS or lower te commands just to add the station are 10 for before IPS and 14 if you are IPS. Then there are other commands for Key Data (9000), Prime Line (93), Ringing (9001), Class (12XX, 13XX) and others if hunting, pickup or other features are needed on these stations...
Don't know how big your system is but you can go through command 7600, 7601 and 7602 and cut and paste to excel. Command 7600 DE (then the DID number) DE this data displayed will be a three digit number. Then go to 7601 for day mode and 7602 for night mode.
