    BGP Peer info via SNMP

I'm trying to get BGP Peer info from SNMP, specifically information about routes that appears in the CISCO-BGP4-MIB. The router is a 7206VXR running an NPE-G1 and image c7200-is-mz.123-6b The problem is that requesting anything like "cbgpRoutePeer" just returns nothing (SNMPv1) or "No Such...

Rackmount server SR114 hard drive replacement

The model numbers actually stayed the same for some time, whilst the backplate design changed (we ordered some and were shocked when they didn't fit) - this is what is so annoying. Even if you do get the right model there's no guarantee that it'll fit!

Rackmount server SR114 hard drive replacement

That's what I'm trying to do myself now, the problem is the very restrictive amount of space in which to do it. Need a rather flexible and long IDE cable to achieve it.

Rackmount server SR114 hard drive replacement

I don't have these to hand, in fact I think they may have been returned to Maxtor (and replaced with a later model). I believe they were DX740 or something similar, but I can't be sure. Pretty much given up on this now, no existing drives fit the machine. Gigabyte have a QA list of drives that...

Rackmount server SR114 hard drive replacement

Can't find non-specific server hardware forum, so here goes.. I have a 1U rackmount server chassis by Gigabyte which has a daughterboard for connecting IDE drives, these drives have fixed sliding plates which put the rear of the disk directly onto fixed IDE and Power connectors. The system was...

    Dual NIC Network Drop outs

Sadly not. I gave up on the situation.

    Dual NIC Network Drop outs

I believe Nvidia make the nic's - it's all part of their nForce2 Chipset. It uses the unified nForce driver. I am on the verge of replacing the nic's with add-in cards, but I still seem to think this is windows related and I'll get the same problem with PCI cards.

    Dual NIC Network Drop outs

No service pack 2. Nothing in the hosts file to cause this unfortunately. I seriously can't imagine this would be a conflict between the NIC's. This motherboard won mobo of the year last year I believe, there's an awful lot of them in use (including some people I've recommended it to) who have...

    Dual NIC Network Drop outs

On a particular machine I have XP Pro operating with dual on-board nic's, one listens on a real world IP address (nic #1) and one listens on a private network address (nic #2). Randomly, but frequently, I'm getting drop outs of connectivity on the real world nic (#1) lasting anything from a...

    2924XL-EN rebooting randomly?

It's happening on all ports, and I suspect it's rebooting as I said, because the uptime is reset. I know it's not power related too as it's on a managed power rail. Guess it's time to swap if there's no other suggestions...

    2924XL-EN rebooting randomly?

That's the plan, but I still need to figure out what's going wrong and/or what might be causing it. Removing it from the network may also mean I'm unable to replicate it. Anyone experienced this before / have suggestions on where to look for clues?

    2924XL-EN rebooting randomly?

We have a catalyst 2924XL-EN which seems to have started rebooting almost randomly. I can't be sure it's rebooting but the switch uptime is definitely reset, which leads me to this conclusion. When the switch boots back up it looks for a DHCP lease, even though it's assigned a static address...

main(): stream does not support seeking

Thanks for the reply but this makes no difference. For the record this is happening on every bit of PHP code using these commands, including commercially available products. Seems to me to be a bug in PHP, but how did something so obvious get into a production release?

main(): stream does not support seeking

Since upgrading to php 4.3.2 all include() and require() occurances (including include_once() etc) which are including -remote- files produce the warning: main(): stream does not support seeking. No config has changed, I'm seeing reports of this on other forums, but no solution. Even a bug...

    845GE Chipset severe performance problems

I don't believe other 845 GE boards have the same problem, it seems to be a combination of factors which cause this on this particular board, none of which we were able to track down. Maybe post to the linux kernel list, I know AC had a few suggestions, and he may be able to come up with...

    845GE Chipset severe performance problems

Well we had a lot of people look at this, and after a few suggestions from them and from Alan Cox we managed to improve the performance slightly, but still it was not acceptable. I think this may be something fixed over time. In the end we pulled the boards and replaced them with a different...

    Force plan text

Thanks for the reply, but.. As far as I see, this only gives me options to specify what format I compose new messages in, which I already have set, and not either of the things I want to do. Andy

    Force plan text

I'm sick of outlook and its insistance to use HTML at every opportunity (despite having set the mail format preferences to otherwise). How can I force outlook to either: - automatically reply in plain text format, even if the sender used HTML (without selecting format>plain text manually)...
