You must be on NT4. I had the same exact problem. I was never able to resolve it. I was told it was a timing problem. I tried win2k and did not have that problem at all. I dont think it is a vpn problem, I think it has to do with fragmentation.

use you ip addresses instead of pc name and you are in there. like \\192.168.0.1\c instead of \\server\c
