I transferred my domain name to our own IP address. I had our internet provider do the dns entries two weeks ago, but now I cant ping my domain name. I want to host my own mail server. Did my ISP not do the DNS entries? Have I done all that is necessary to make my exchange server ready to go.
I did the things listed above. I setup SMTP and POP fowarding on the router. Exchange is up and running. It should be configured correctly. I have setup these before.
Any hints?

Have setup your DNS yet?
You need to resolve your mailserver via your DNS.
If not it would never work because nobody knows where your mail server is.

Hope this helps

Cox is resolving my DNS. I suspect they have not done this. Will find out tomorrow. Thanks Maurius

check your 'host' file to reflect your server - c:\winnt.sbs\drivers\etc host and lmhost by memory do not open or save as default 'notepad'

a simple mistake

Thanks Nigeldk, I think Cox messed me up.
