Incoming Call Handling - Import Data Tool

First: I have read other posts about this, but the results are not returning as described. CM 7.1 ASA 6.0.07 I am trying to import incoming call handling data using the Import Data form in ASA. I've tried numerous times without success. Since I couldn't get it to work, I manually entered a few...

SBCE Registration Request - SIP Carrier/Provider

Avaya SBC 7.2 I am trying to get SIP service working with a new SIP carrier and not having success. The new carrier route has been built in the SBCE and the route is open on the router/firewall. The packets are being sent. The carrier says that my SBC must register with their SBC before calls...

    VPN Phone Changing to Disabled

CM 7.1.3 Phone firmware - 96x1-IPT-H323-R6_8_3_04-111919 I have a 9641 set up as a VPN phone (H.323). It was set up on the network first to pull down its files from Utility server and config from the 46xxsettings file. When connected to an Internet port outside the network, it connects over...

    DTMF Not Recognized

Figured it out. The network guys had the GW blocked from accessing voicemail. Normally, that shouldn't be an issue because the phones register directly with CM. But DTMF uses RTP which require DSP resources. Those phones were using the GW's DSP resources. Once they opened it up, it started working.

    DTMF Not Recognized

CM 7.1.3 Session Mgr 7.1.3 OfficeLinx VM Just set up a new remote office with a G430 MG on a new network region (NR). The [three] H.323 9608 phones there register to CM through the new NR. When they call into OfficeLinx voicemail, the DTMF tones are not recognized. OfficeLinx continues to ask...

    ESS Takeover - Forced Failover

Thanks for the responses. I've considered both options, but haven't done either. Just wanted to get some feedback on how others do it.

    ESS Takeover - Forced Failover

Aura CM 7.1.3 I have two sites. One runs the main CM procr; the other is the ESS. The main site is being shut down to replace the main power breaker. I need to failover to the ESS, but don't know how to do that manually. Can anyone provide the steps to manually failover to the ESS and then go...

Session Manager - Local Host Name Resolution (or groups)

Aura CM 7.1 Aura ASM 7.1 I need help with creating a group in the Local Host Name Resolution page of Session Manager (ASM). One groups works no problem. The other one doesn’t. I have two communication managers (CM) - one each in two sites. Likewise, I have two ASMs in each site. In...

Network Region configuration for SM and wireless.

I am no expert by any means. But, I can tell how mine is set. We have two sites with a Session Manager (ASM) in each. I have a network region (NR) set for each ASM. The signaling groups use each NR for routing traffic to the specified ASM depending on the location (ASM) to where I want the...

    Bulk Change - Coverage Path

Both are very good suggestions. I'm sure I will use them both in the future. Thank you for the feedback.

How do I find a location's and IP Network Region subnet range?

What version of CM? Are you running SMGR? I'm no expert by any means. But, when you run list reg reg, don't you insert the region number after the last reg (i.e: list registered-ip-stations region 1)? That will tell you which stations are mapped to that network region. Or, you can run "list...

    Bulk Change - Coverage Path

I need to change the coverage path on about 100 stations. I don't want to change each station individually. Is there a way to bulk/mass change the coverage path for multiple stations at once - either in ASA, SMGR, spreadsheet upload, or another way? Thanks, Ted

    CMS RT Sockets - Re-IP

I figured it out: The configuration for the RT Sockets is in the rta.conf file on the CMS server. Its location on the server (for my application) is /export/host/pserv/rt_socket/rta.conf. However, this is NOT where the IP address is stored. the rta.conf file only uses hostnames. If you want to...

    CMS RT Sockets - Re-IP

I need help changing the IP addresses in the CMS RT sockets that point to some call center wallboards. They cannot be changed from the CMS menu. I have viewed the /etc/hosts file. In it, I see the CMS server’s IP address, some printer IP addresses, and the wallboard server’s IP address. How...

    Avaya EMS Shutdown

    IP Firmware Server

...Or you can do that (manually point to the file server).

    IP Firmware Server

What are you using to push firmware? Avaya Utility Server or just a file server? Is your 242 option configured in your DHCP scope? It needs to be for HTTP IP phones (96xx). For Utility server, the files are administered via the Utility server Web interface and they are deployed to...
