We have an IP Office attached to our Definity doing exactly this, for three years now. We've been using the IP Office as conference bridge, tied to the PBX via two T1s, direct between the units. I think I bought to T1 cards from ebay for the PBX and hooked it all up myself.
We just dial an...
I can't help you with your specific situation, however I do have experience with another carrier and a different switch. We had to record all the touch tones on the announcement and play back the announcment as our switch could not outpulse the DTMF. We also had to record the announcement by...
Each station needs to be set to allow IP Softphone. On the first station screen set "IP SoftPhone" to Y and on the second station screen, set "Multimedia Mode" to Enhanced. You also have to assign the station a security code (screen 1) and use that as the login password.
With so many T1s, you should consider buying your own fiber DS3 from your local carrier. A DS3 carries up to 28 T1s. Once you're around 10 or so T1s, you usually start saving money by having them all ride a DS3. The local carrier normally waives one end of the local loop charge since you now...
When your PBX dials out to your cell, what type of trunk is it dialing out on? It must dial out on a PRI-ISDN to pass the ANI through to your cell, otherwise you won't get it.
Toni-IP Phone has a tandem feature that allows it to take control of a desktop phone, this is neither Telecomuter nor RoadWarrior mode. It's so you can use IP softphone at the same desk as your physical phone. I use it daily, it is quite handy.
I'm not clear on exactly what your concern is...
You have no control over this. It's up to the telco on the receiving end. And if the location you're calling doesn't subscribe to caller ID, it won't matter.
Name is deliverd by the local LEC when they match the incoming number to a name in their database. The telcos don't all share their...
You should try and get telco to send DNIS digits to match your extension dial plan. If you have 4 digit extensions, you should ask telco to only send 4 digit DNIS. When the DNIS matches the extension, your switch does the right thing automatically.
The alternative is messing with "incoming...
You don't have to use PRI, a non-PRI T1 will deliver ANI and DNIS in-band if properly configured. You were not clear on how your calls are being delivered today. Do they come over a T1 or are they pointed to a traditional copper DID number. They'll have to be delivered on a T1 for you to get...
You'll need to change to NI-2, but you'll need to coordinate with telco. Both ends need to be running the same. You also need to beat them upside the head and ask why they keep telling you you're running NI-2 when you're clearly not.
To change the protocol you have to busy out the trunk group...
You need to check your DS1 form (not trunk group) for the protocol version on your switch. The Definity supports both Custom (AT&T) and NI2. I run both on my switch now with different carriers.
On your DS1 that connects to Qwest, check the protocol version a=Custom (AT&T) b=NI2. Here's what...
Try a couple of things:
1)
Verify you are running NI2 protocol. Look on your DS1 screen for "Protocol Version: b" b=NI, a=AT&T
Use "display ds1 01a16", replace 01a16 with the correct card number in your switch.
2)
"list trace tac XXX" where xxx is the TAC code from your trunk group screen...
I don't have a Cisco device attached to my Definity. I have several other types of equipment, direct-connected to my definity via ISDN. Here is my DS1 config, signaling group and trunk group information for one of my T1s. Note on the DS1 form, protocol version "b" is NI-2, and "a" is...
You generally set it up just like any other ISDN T1. The main difference is you should set the Definity DS1 to "host" mode. On the DS1 screen in the "Connect" field, set that to "host". Then your Definity appears to be the CO side to the Cisco equipment. I have a Definity connected this way...
Haven't heard of this problem, but are you running NI protocol on your PRI? If so, try setting this option to "y" on the second page of the trunk group screen.
US NI Delayed Calling Name Update: y
We receive name/num from LEC on PRI with no problems. If name isn't available, it just shows...
I only have one outbound PRI in my setup. I setup the route patterns so that calls that get the DID get the first trunk group, if it's full it will still go to the next trunk group. So the call still goes out, but won't get the full DID. Same way on all other calls, most go out on "generic"...
