Hi,

I know very little of the phone system so pls bear with me. I have an Avaya Definity model G3siV9, version R009i.05.0.122.2. I have 3 800 numbers switched to 3 DIDs and 3 hunt groups. Each hunt group has its own Group Extension, a Vector. Each vector has 2 VDNs.

I have BCMS installed and it is showing very good information, except I would like to see where the originating calls are coming from. I would like to see where the callers (who are calling my 800 numbers) are calling from. Is this possible?

Thanks

There are two things required to accomplish your goal: The calls must come in over ISDN-PRI facilities. This will provide the calling number to the PBX. The second component is a Call Detail Recording (CDR) system. This is a PBX adjunct that collects the call records (who called who for how long over what trunk) and enables you to sort the data and run reports.

You don't have to use PRI, a non-PRI T1 will deliver ANI and DNIS in-band if properly configured. You were not clear on how your calls are being delivered today. Do they come over a T1 or are they pointed to a traditional copper DID number. They'll have to be delivered on a T1 for you to get the ANI. Then you'll need the CDR software to capture the call detail. BCMS may do this, I'm not familiar with it.
