Hi, thanks both for the info!! I'll definitely check out the FAQs (my key word search didn't return what I was looking for!). Also, in terms of order, I believe 97 was installed first, followed by 2000 - although I will have to confirm that with the person that installed them. The OS is also...
Hi, we have a small group of people who have both MS Acc 97 and MS Acc 2000 on their machine. The 'Standard' is MS Access 2000, but until an old database is upgraded (long story there), they need to have both versions on their desktop. They launch both using shortcuts, so they get the version...
In MS Access 2000, I am trying to automate the export of a table into a comma-delimited file (.csv). When I have the table open, I can export to that format no problem, but when I try to export in a macro using the 'Output To' command, the file-output format choices are limited. What I'm...
Hi; Could you create a new dbase, (where you would by default be the admin and it would point to your local .mdw), then import all of the items from your other dbase? Then you could copy it over the old file if it is a shared one. Not super-technical, but it would be quick n easy!
Thanks again - last night before I logged out I got it in -- I was missing the quotes around the field name - so used to using only brackets! Thanks again for all of your help!!
No, you don't sound patronizing! :) Yes, I've been working with query name and continue to get Error results..I have a feeling I'm misssing a quote or bracket type of thing - so close! I will keep plugging away! Thank you!
Thank you!! I'm still playing with the syntax but this looks promising! I really appreciate the quick reply as well! If I can just get it to recognize my domain name I think I'll be all set. Thanks again!
Hi; I have what is hopefully a dumb question. Often in forms I'd like to duplicate the Excel function "SumIF"; I'm not sure how to do it. For example, I created a form footer calculated field which I would LIKE to subtotal only certain records displayed on the form. Any ideas...
Hi; I've had to do this before - what I usually do is write a macro that runs the MT query, then the next line in the macro is the RUNSQL command - the parameter is ALTER TABLE (you can look up the syntax in the help). You can change the data type of a field using this command. Hope this helps!
HI; I'm doing a mail merge from Access into a Word document, merging into an email address. I'm on MS Access 2000. Is there any way to merge a field from my database into the subject line of the merged emails? So far it seems like I can only type one text in there per batch, but I may be...
Thank you Gary! Appreciate it - i did check your suggestions; and i seem to be okay on them. But, I will try your suggestion of importing - the only possible issue there is I'm pulling from hidden worksheets (need to check if that causes an issue) but it's worth giving a try!! Tx!
Hi! I've set up a database which has linked spreadsheets as an initial data source (the dbase pulls in certain records only). It seems to work fine except once in a while I will receive a message "System Resources Exceeded" when I try to query the spreadsheet and/or view it through...
