The phone type is an Avaya 4424D with a DSS4450. The button is on the DSS4450. The button is programmed via the Manager as *20*309#.

I have a button on the receptionists phone programed to turn the Night Attendant on when pressed. Is there a way to make the light come on when the Night Attendant is turned on?

I didn't know you could make it happen automatically. Is it a simple procedure or a multi-step process? (i.e., can you tell me how it's done?)

Is it possible to track when (date and time) the night attendant is turned on and off?

I really confused now. I don't want to setup anything different then I have now. The system is working well. I just need to know why there was a dedicated phone line set to the computer modem. The company that installed it has gone out of business so there's no one to ask why they set it...

Of course; I thought it refered to something in the Manager software. Is there an simple test to see if the IP412 is talking with the computer once I remove the modem cable?

I think the system may be setup via the second option, but I'm unclear what CMD Route refers to. Sorry for the neophite questions. Thanks for your help.

I don't believe they have ever had anything programmed. There are no Collect Start Points for th 2XX extensions.

By visual voice button, do you mean program one of their phone buttons? If so, then Yes, their phones (4412) are programmed with Advanced - VoiceMail - Voicemail Collect on button number 6.
