Yes I know Access, just couldn't quite see how it related to the thread. No I see it didn't. Thanks for your input anyway and have fun with Access, in particular if your Access app covers the desktop on Windows 7 and you want to get to your gadgets at the click of a mouse.

Thanks for the info and it was useful looking through, however, I have now found a solution with the code at: http://forums.devx.com/archive/index.php/t-58522.html and just needed to add the G virtual key. many thanks

Thanks, but that minimises the any running apps. The Win+G button brings the gadgets to the front without minimising the current apps. We are missing the way that the sidebar is docked on Vista and have tools that we need to access.

In Windows 7 you can press the Windows Key + G to bring all the gadgets to the front. I am looking at creating an small app to leave in the task bar that you can click with mouse to provide the same result. I know you can just press Win G but the users want the option just to click something...

    3300 SNMP traps

Yes, although the system will also report unknown traps. We have also monitored the network and we do not get an SNMP trap when the threshold changes. Many thanks

    3300 SNMP traps

I have read that thanks and it seems to relate to the management station accessing the switches rather than the switches sending traps to the management station. Our management station can access the switches using SNMP.

    3300 SNMP traps

Just to clarify we need the alerts to go to a non Mitel network management station, SNMPc.

    3300 SNMP traps

Yes, the community strings and trap destinations are set up. As I have said, we receive the Cold Start trap, but cannot see where you can set up to specify that a trap is sent when the switch has an alarm.

    3300 SNMP traps

We have two trap receivers set up and allow all SNMP managers. I have not seen anywhere to set up specific traps to receive. We do get the Cold Start traps as I stated but nothing else. We have had a threshold changed to put the system into both minor and major alarms, but still no SNMP trap...

    3300 SNMP traps

We are getting Cold Start traps from the 3300s, but none when we get an alarm status on the switches. As we are getting the Cold Start it seems we have the basic IP and trap details correct but we are supposed to be able to get threshold and alarms traps too. Is there anywhere else that this...

Why would a server send a NetBIOS name query for ..<00>

All the best with the newborn....mine are 18 and 19 (years) and still distracting!

Why would a server send a NetBIOS name query for ..<00>

Thanks, but I am not sure that is the issue here. Why would that one server out of a hundred or so we have, be sending out this name query multiple time a second? Also, why would the computer name it is trying to query be ".."? I cannot see any reference to that name being used, and the...

Why would a server send a NetBIOS name query for ..<00>

I have a server that is sending out repeated NetBIOS name queries for .. as the server name in the type <00> which is for a workstation/redirector. The server name does not contain the dots and we do not know of any service that should be being called with that name. Any ideas? From Wireshark...

IBM Director PegasusProviderAdapter Not releaseing file handles

It would seem to be an agent problem. It seems to be fixed in 5.10.2 agent. Make sure that the servers agents are updated when the Director Server is. We are currently putting the 5.10.3 agent out. We seem to have a mix of agents on the servers.

IBM Director 5.10.2 questions / performance

We have just downloaded 5.10.3 and will try an upgrade with that. We have issues with the Director Service crashing. We have a call logged with IBM but we haven't made any progress yet. When Director is starting it sends out all the alerts to say it can see everything. It didn't used to do...

    Filters in 5510/3510

With version 5.0 of the code for the 55x0 there is an advanced routing license that costs more but includes VRRP and OSPF etc. You will be able to download the manuals and code if you bought the 55x0 prior to 1 July 2006, but you still need to buy the extra license if you need that...

IBM Director 5.10.2 questions / performance

We have 5.10.1 on Windows. Not perfect but better then 4.x. My recommendation if you stay on Windows is to do a fresh install and don't upgrade. We upgraded, had problems and reinstalled. Still some problems, but it works.

Your interesting uses for IBM Director

We mainly use it for RDM. Some monitoring. We were going to deploy PCs from it as well, but gave up with that a long time ago and use Altiris instead.
