    it will take someone a while to write a exploit program, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it. If you use your router for VPN or firewall protection, you may want to get backups. The worst case is probably just a router crash or shutdown. Nothing a reboot wouldn't solve.

    I'm not sure I understand. It sounds like you dont have the tape software that was on the crashed HD?? No install cd? You may have to buy a new copy or call them to get a recovery CD sent to you. If it was MS backup, just do a clean install and it will be in your system tools.

    We have a VPN setup with 2 linksys's using 3/4 of a T1 line and it works relatively good. You're best off getting a package deal T1 line for both your phone system and Data and ditch the cable and dsl. They aren't worth the headaches.

    A PC has an IP for each network card it has installed and connected to something. If you have a router in between the PC and the internet, the router has 2 IP's. One on your PC netowrk, one on your ISP's network, and it "routes" between the two networks.

    Sounds like a cheap 3com switch to me. Make sure your ethernet on the routers is set to full duplex as well. Any good switch should be able to auto-negotiate the rate if your router is at 10Mbs.
