Strange behaviour when logged onto server

Hi ForumKB, Thanks for the response; I haven't found anything so far application wise. All the problems seem to be in and around functions of the OS itself. Tried removing the enhanced security for all and I'm afraid that it hasn't made a difference (I haven't rebooted it though, which I'll...

Strange behaviour when logged onto server

Hi All, I have a Windows Server 2003 R2 DC that seems to have gotten its knickers in a twist. Some of the things that are playing up: Clicking on start --> run asks you if you want to place a shortcut on the desktop. Clicking yes does so. Pressing the Windows key + R brings up the run prompt...

Hi there, I have set up a few public folders and mail enabled them. I want my users to have the ability to 'send as' for these public folders. When I add the public folder to the from field from the gal i get the message 'You do not have permission to send the message on behalf of the...

    Profiles....

That would suggest to me that your local drive is FAT rather than NTFS. If this is the case, then the error is been caused by something else, as FAT does not use NT security. hmmmm, have to think about this one.

    Profiles....

Check the event viewer for any messages relating to roaming profiles not writing back, access denied errors are the most common. When a profile is created by default the administrator does not get access to the folder. To make this happen, enable the 'add the administrators security group to...
