Hi Everyone,

I have a Dell poweredge 1300 Server which originally came with 2 x 9.1gb HDD (Quantum 68pin 3.5")and a PERC2 Raid controller.
Unfortunately, one of the Hard Disks has gone walkabouts and i wish to reuse this server as a Win2k ISA Server with Mirrored Hard Disks (RAID1).
Can i use a 18/36gb Hard Disk from a different manufacturer for raid 1 in this machine ?

If i've read up on raid correctly, it is recommened that you use the same manufacture/model in raid and that the smallest disk defines the space available.

I would welcome anyone to correct me on this one though :)

Used a 18gb scsi from a different manufacturer and was fine.
Needed to be same pin number
