Give him local Admin rights on all the boxes locally. Make him install the software one at a time. But this does leave the question.....why do you have a problem with giveing him rights? You should be able to trust your techie.
What you want to do is copy two files, then put them somewhere you can get to them.
first your .PAB file....Personal Address book
next your .PST file.
user.pab
user.pst
then just import them into your mail client.
Sounds like he might have hidden the taskbar and locked it. Try looking in Control Panel, taskbar and Start menu options for the problem and the fix.

Thanks for the tip. I am tryin Rstudio now, but connected to the laptop via cross over cable. It does not connect to it. I will give your way a try. (I wanted to avoid removing the drive)
I'm working on a Toshiba Satellite laptop with a P3, that used to have WinXP Home. I need help on recovering the data from the hard drive. I dont know what happped (user will not tell me) to it, but i am guessing the drive was erased without being formatted. If you have any helpful advice...
I would try another video card in it first. See what that does. If that does not work then replace you're motherboard. Sorry bout the luck. Nothing lasts forever.
