I personally think if your on a budget to get a PC. For five hundred bucks you can get a PC that will run loops around a thousand dollar Mac. All the same programs are available and cheaper too. Im a PC tech, but have done freelance graphic design fo five years now. Mac's are better for...
The only other item in the computer that is mechanical and that can click would be your CD Rom. Could that be the source of the noise? May be take out the CD Rom and try to boot. Just a suggestion, so I hope it works.
I have the same problem and fixed the problem only half-way. There is another post that has a buch of responses to pretty much the same question. Check it out for more info. What I did was pull out the battery, then take off the keyboard, and disconnect the power manager for a few minutes...
I too have a Pismo that I can't get to boot. It did nothing at first when I turned it on. To fix the problem I reset the system, and then took the keyboard off and disconnected the power management cable for a few minutes, then re-connected it. This fixed the problem partially. Now it boots...
