    Automated dialing

Hi bcastner, Thanks for the input. However, 1) what task do you schedule to make the connection? (As I mentioned, running an Ant task doesn't seem to do it. Maybe there's a Windows program that can be run - perhaps launching IE with a parameter? - tho I'm not sure how to do that.) 2) how do...

    Automated dialing

Is there a way to get XP/Pro to, at a specified time, dial up an phone number (which happens to be an ISP access point), get connected, run a process and then disconnect? The process I'm uses Ant with an XML buildfile, but I can't find any Ant task that can cause XP to dial up the connection...

    Audible Dialing Progress

Well, I found where you can add extra initialization parameters like you said. It was blank. I tried adding '&M2' and 'M2'. No sound. (I should add that the sound on the machine seems to work just fine for all other purposes.) Guess I'll just give up and admit defeat. Thanks to all for the...

    Audible Dialing Progress

When I'm at home I use my always-on DSL connection. But when I'm on the road, I have to use a dial-up connection. Problem is, I can't hear the dialing progress sounds, so sometimes have a lot of trouble figuring out why I'm not getting through. I vaguely recall that, when I first had the...

    Searching inside Java source files

Fantastic! It now works like a charm. Maybe I'm getting MS-paranoid, but I thought it suspicious that Java source files couldn't be searched. And even more suspicious when I (somehow) fixed it, but then it reverted back again.

Sessions...in java app, not jsp or servlets

If I understand your question properly, I believe you can use session attributes for what you want to do.

    Searching inside Java source files

Some time ago I noticed that the search function of my XP/Pro would *not* search inside Java source files. (I wouldn't find 'import' in '.java' files, for example.) A friend showed me a very complex way to change the defaults and - lo and behold: it worked! Now, alas, it stopped working and I...
