May I suggest McAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator product. Will do all the remote management you'll need, updates, reports etc...I don't imagine it's cheap though!

If you're using MS Outlook 2000 as your email client then install the Outlook 2k Email Security Update, its included in Office 2k Service Pack 2. This blocks attachments which MS deem as unsafe, such as .exes and .bats and .scrs and also includes .pif files. See MS KB262631 for full list.
