Hi everyone,
Is there a way to route emails from somebody outside the domain to several users of my domain? ie when an email from bgates@microsoft.com comes in, have it go automatically to john@mydomain.com, pete@mydomain.com and judy@mydomain.com??
Thanks for your help.
Ok, I get it.. so they didn't want to give out their personal email address, so they gave the business one. Everything is forwarded to their personal. That is until they have to email out, it will show their personal.
I wonder why didn't they just use POP3 to access the exchange server.
I guess I was lucky this time, the reason these accounts were not in use is that they were only a "front" account. Each one of these users has a personal account they use for email since they are never here in the office. They all had their personal accounts setup also but they were hidden and...
Hi all,
Yesterday I was doing basic account maintenance on my ES 5.5 and coordinating with my boss and HR, we agreed to delete some mailboxes that were not in use. In that list were 3 that were not supposed to be deleted (roaming salesmen). There weren't any important emails in them but I want...
I am a comcast customer and use VPN all the time, my IP leases usually last 6 months if the modem doesn't go off-line for more than 5 minutes. There is a little tool I use called DNS2GO and it basically gives you a Domain address with whatever ip you have. It updates the IP every 5 minutes or...
Thank you for your help, you were both right! The boot sector was corrupted and I wasn't hitting the F6 on time.
I created the boot disk and was able to boot. The major problem was that this is the Exchange server we are talking about so it had to be online.
It is now so thank you very much...
Well, all this was installed before my time and the email admin role just fell on my lap recently.
I was able to rebuild the drives boot sector and the server is back online. I have ordered a new server and want to migrate exchange to it. I will probably need some advice as how to move all the...
Scenario:
Dell PowerEdge 1300 PIII 550 512M RAM, Promise Fastrak TX2 IDE controller card with 1 mirror array setup.
This morning the server was just past the SCSI utility option on boot and cursor blinking. Array said functional. Tried to reboot several times with same result. Don't know what...
I have read a couple of articles regarding moving to different hardware and disaster recovery, but I have a slightly different problem.
Last night the exchange server took a dive and will not boot or see the drives. Since they were in a special array, they cannot be seen by other servers when...
no, from home i use comcast cable, simple cable/dsl router, and my laptop. no vpn or any kind of direct connection to the office. i used the same laptop and dialed msn trying to check email and it would give me an error when trying to send emails. could not find server. but when receiving, every...
got it figured out the last minute.
09876543210: no they are corporate exchange email accounts.
the problem resides somewhere in the dialup loop. i dialed out through another ISP and it worked just fine. It seems that some ISPs block the smtp.
and thinking about it, it actually seems logical...
This might have been discussed before, but since I have to fix quick, I decided to post.
Scenario:
WinNT4 Server, Exchange 5.5 SP4.
All users can access OK in the office. Webmail is working OK.
When trying to access via Internet, ie. dial-up, I can receive all emails ok, but when it tries...
I am having the same problem with several users (only the ones on XP)on my network. It is also happening to mine. Local or not the files are from word and excel. I did notice that they all say "Requesting virus scan" at the bottom of the application window. I don't know if this is a...
Thanks a lot for your replies and help. We decided to give everybody local admin rights and that took care of it. They all seem to be working ok now.
Thanks again and happy holidays!
