I have Windows 95 Running a legacy application running in Virtual PC 5.2. Virtual PC 2004 doesn't let the application work, went through 3 weeks of lengthy troubleshooting with Microsoft and they finally gave up and we returned all our 2004 licenses. We have VMWare 4.0 now, everything works...
I've found a solution, I installed Solomon IV on a windows 95 machine (I use virtual PC for testing) moved only the '.dat' files to the existing database folder and I can access all the data and do everything with it. Pervasive has to do a lot more with compatibility if they want to compete in...
I tried doing that, PCC doesn't recognize the data file, I know the database schema, I created identical table, tried to import from that .DAT file and also BUTIL dump text. PCC wizard doesn't recognize the data structure and it doesn't import. I have the DDF files for the whole database, but...
I inherited this system, running Scalable SQL 3.01 ON NT 3.51 Server, the application is Solomon IV 1.7. I can do everything with Solomon IV, but I can't execute SQL queries or make/modify reports, coz the gentleman before me left without leaving any notes or hints. I don't know the password, I...
I appreciate your helpful advice,
I will be moving the controllers and hard disk drives at the same time to the new server.
I plan to get new SCSI drives in near future, due to budget constraints I could muster only one server machine. I have disk cloning software already I will use it to clone...
I am planning to replace my current PDC machine which is PIII, 2x19GB SCSI Drives, to P4 Same Drive. I want to use the Same SCSI Drive in the new machine. Whatever I've read, says that its not going to work, I'll have to do a complete reinstall of everything, isn't there any simpler way to do it?
Oh well, initial panic because my boss was on my neck. I figured it out as soon as he left to attend some calls. Right click on the Share and click 'Map Network Drive', in that window under the Drive, Folder field. There's a hyperlink 'Connect using a different user name'. Click on it. You'll...
I can successfully connect to a network share on MacOS 10.3, from windows 2000. It asks me for userid and password and it works. While using Win XP Pro, I can browse to the share, it asks me for userid and password. The useird field is disabled and it displays '\\ipaddressofMAC\Guest' and i...

I really appreciate your help.
Plugins inside Internet Explorer, particularly Flash and Shockwave. If I disable third party extensions, Flash and Shockwave won't play at all, these run .SWF files.
You got it right that I don't want to remove them.
Thanks for the help though.
Well I am the one unable to clarify the situation. I tried the Internet Explorer option you mentioned. It works with 'inline embedded' sounds like midi or .wav or auto triggered audio from a web page, it doesn't effect IE plugins. It won't disable Flash or Shockwave sound.
I am playing Mp3, that...
I understand that, but that only stops certain 'Audio Events' only if the sounds were associated with particular application. Let me clarify my situation more.
I am playing music.
I don't want to listen to any audio output coming from e.g. 'Macromedia Shockwave or Flash'. Is there a way to stop...
I was wondering whether its possible to restrict audio access to certain applications. e.g. When playing a song, disable other applications' audio output.
