worked today to test packet bus faults on an older G3i
had to use the pbx terminal to do the fault isolation test on the tn771. does anyone know the pin out to allow this be to set up using a db9 serial connector on the serial port of my laptop?
I have a customer that is having an issue with their 2420 stes not showing name info on internal call records in the missed call log.
If users from another location call via DCS and or IP trunks the name info is in the log.
this is only with users in the same building/system.
anyone else ever...
i had this happen to me once
customer wanted put their 8400 on the corperate lane so there was a multitude of IP address changes.
i thought i was going to lose it when i decided to try to disable the procr ip interface and then re-enabled it and TADA worked like a charm.
Good Luck
Mike...
in the future any new modem lines should be NON DID numbers.
depending on how many modem lines you have now you could one by one change over to NON DIDs for them as well.
Its the best way. NON DID that is. in fact it is a MUST for moast financial institutions.
at my previous position i was given the title of Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer. That is latin for Phone guy.
then i was laid off and t-com was left to the network guys. so the same company cnanged my title to Consultant.
now i am a resident technician for an Avaya business...
New area codes are added in ARS not in the FRL. I would add new "local" area codes and route them the same way you route the existing "local" area Codes.
Example
Area code 212 is routed via Partition Route Table 1 and uses route patern 1 with an FRL of 1.
New area code...
I agree with Lopes.
The all step should be last. Take care of the (odd hours) weekends first. That way if it isnt fri or sat then it will roll to step 4 but if it is fri or sat it will be handled correctly right away.
If the client is in 909 and they are calling 907 wouldn't they dial 1-907-xxx-xxxx?
you should be looking at the ARS ANA for 190X not 90X.
let me know if this helps.
Joel,
you mentioned earlier that you were using a cross-over cable.
you should use a straight through for a connection to a data switch. cross-overs are used only for like to like conections.
(like to like = switch to switch or NIC to NIC)
treat the val board like a NIC card on a pc.
sheepdog,
What bob is trying to say is go into you own V-mail box (the one associated with your extension) and use opt 1 to record messages.
Then send the message and dial in the extensions that you want to send them to.
Let me know if this helps.
Mike
Fax requires analog port.
if you are moving it to a location that is wired for a digital port you must run a new cross connect to that location for the analog port.
Bingo Bob.
