Found it out :)
The user was accessing with and XP machine. The prompt would have a space to imput a user name and password but not a "domain" box. Normally this should not have been a problem becuase I have the default domain set on server but for some reason it was. So putting in like so...
Greetings everyon,
This should be easy for someone. A user of mine cannot acccess his Outlook Web Access from his home system. He is using an updated I.E. and windows XP. He gets the errror "Page cannot be displayed" However, if the goes to another system running 2000 with I.E. he can...
Hi,
I've been getting a headache trying to connect the only laptop with Win98 in the company to my Windows2000/NT network. If I could show you the screen shots of the TCPIP settings you would probably say that I got them all right. Especially since I tried them several ways just to make...
Well thanks,
That worked but now I'm getting "Access to the [users directory] denied" messeges when I log in as the user. I added the test user to the Administrators group but I still get the message. Any ideas?
Thanks agian,
Victor
Sorry the is a lot that one likes to assume. That is a "yes" to all the questions. The thing I can't seem to find is that "enable roaming profile" in AD. I've read several MSKB articles on the subject but they don't seem to mention it. Only putting in the path which I have don. Can you tell...
Greetings Everyone,
When I go to "change user type" I cannot select "Roaming". It is greyed out. I am logged in as administrator. I is there something else I need to do to enable that function?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Victor
Greetings everyone,
One of my techs in another dept. constantly adds and removes systems from the network for various reasons. Suddenly he is getting a "Number of systems over limit" error and cannot add any other systems. However another user with the same rights can still add...
Greetings all,
I know that you are not supposed to use Windows Explorer to manipulate the "M:" drive on an Exchange Server but I use it to look a the mail boxes from time to time.
When I look at the rights on the mail boxes I see that the administrator has all rights check marked...
Greetings Everyone,
I am working with the Veritas Tech support team and they want me to install the Exchange Administartor Utility on the Backup Server. Does anyone know how to install just the Admin Utility and not the whole Exchange Mail server program?
Thanks in advance for any help or...
Hello Everyone,
I'm having trouble doing this. Can anyone cut and paste me the rules for allowing Outlook Web Access through the ISA Server? I tried creating a protocol rule to allow it(I know it's not recommended but I got desperat.) but it did not work. Now I hear that I have to run...
Sorry can't remember,
But it is redily identifieable if you go to the Logitech start menu folder. Since then I've noticed that Microsofts Instant Messanger will do somthing simular. The instant messengers are often blocked at firewalls.
This situeation threw me because it was a new box...
Hi Marc,
Thanks for the reply. The SBS procedure is pretty well laid out in the 324958 KB article but basically it gets rid of "junk" left over in the Ques. Is what you mentioned a simular procedure for Win 2000 Server?
Thanks agian,
Victor
Greetings everyone,
A friend just sent me a referance on how to "clean up" the ques in Exchange. The only problem is that the MSKB article (324958)is for Small Buisness Server. Does a simular thing need to be done for Exchange 2000? I have not found any simular articles for Ex2k...
Greetings Everyone,
While investigating some 20111 errors on my ISA Server I noticed the "Keberose key generation" service was disabled. Shouldn't that service be running?
Victor,
While looking over the exchange server I noticed a strange thing about the Administrator E-mail account. I can send E-mail to it but I cannot connect to it or open it. Upon further inspection I found that I could not see it in the Exchange Manager module nor was I given the option to remove it...
I think that was it. I may have clicked past the notice once while in a hurry and thought, "It will remind me later." but it didn't. Clearing out the log seems to have solved the problem
Thanks
Found the answer.
The Logitech software automatically installed an instant messageing program. Though the program was not activated nor an account established it aparently kept trying to detect an internet connection, thus eliciting a response from the proxy server. Once removed the problem...
When I go to the event log on my exchange server I can see the first few events then, if I brows arround, the list goes blank. Completely blank. I think I've narrowed down the problem to one of the services taking up to many resources (InetInfo.exe I think) but I have installed Service pack 3...
