i did the same as most people here, just over a month, the only thing i would say is make sure u know RIS, three mates of mine did the exam at the same time, we all got 5 or six questions on it.
either way, good luck m8
thanks to everyone who replied, especially for the recommendations on what i should do more detailed study on, thinking i will do the exam in about two weeks, once again thanks :)
alright this is probably a stupid question but here goes.
i've recently sat my 70-210 exam and passed (yeah), i'm currently working my way though the 70-215 study material and as far as i can tell almost all of it is the same as what i had to know for 210, are the exams as similiar as they...
can someone please tell me what is meant by flashing the bios???
also is tis term misleading, is it the cmos that's being refered to or is it really the systems bios?
alright this is the prob (well not really a problem just annoying)
using win 2k pro, when the system boots it loads all progs like icq etc which i don't want to load a boot, in win98 u could use system config. utility to alter the start up options, anyone know where this option is in 2k, the...
the system partition is where the boot files for the os are stored, these ar the files like ntldr, boot.ini etc
the boot partiton is where all the os files are stored that actually load the os are.
so if had two partions (c & d) all the boot files would be on the system partition (C) and all...
me neither, in my experience it's always cleared the entire cmos when i close the jumpers or remove the battery, although battery removal is a pain in the arse, i recommended it once, then got called up about 10 mins later and got told it was giving a cmos error warning, turns out they didn't...
yup u can short the cmos & it'll reset everything in it, the should be three jumpers for this, they're usally close to the battery but not always, if u still have the motherboard manual it'll tell u in there, if not a quick search on the net u should be able to find a diagram that'll show u all...
if u was inside the unit check all connections, the power switch on the atx is connected to the mobo, u might have accidentally dislodged it or something.
if i understand u correctly u could do this:
say your customers are in cells A7 to A16, and u have a cell reference link of A5 (cell reference link is in the format control of your drop down box)it'll return a number depending on what customer is selected.
Your customer numbers are in cells B7...
where is the drive situated on the floppy cable? or is there only the one connection?
also the easiest way to know if the cable is on backwards is when u boot, the power light will come on and stay on.
are u sure you've got the jumper sset correctly on the cd if you're running it on the same cable as the hard drive.
make sure the hard drive is set top master and the cd is set to slave (the jumpers are on the back of the cd near the ide cable normally)
oh it doesn't sound like a mobo prob. i...
i'd agree, SCSI is far more reliable than ide, just make sure of scsi id's etc.
also what os u using?, if you're using 2k it could be worthwhile thinking about the disk type (using dynamic instead of basic so u can stripe or span the volumes)
on boot up press and hold f8, this will give u boot options and safe mode is on the list.
i thought booting directly to safe mode on 98 u pressed f4 though.
