Question: Is it possible to SORT a calculated sum (i.e., expression) in a MS Access 2010 web report? Details: Before the sum can compute for display, a max function runs first at the web report footer level. The calculated sum is formatted as a percentage and needs to display in descending...

Create a desktop folder using Javascript

Thank you for your time. Unfortunately, I don't think my original plan of using a website to create a public desktop folder on a users Win7 machine will be a viable option when my employer rolls out Windows 7 next year - there will be too many security restrictions in place blocking it.

Create a desktop folder using Javascript

I believe the code you referenced on the MS site provides guidence on how to create a folder in the root of c:\. That's fine, however, I also need to be able to add this folder to the default desktop profile on a Windows 7 machine. Microsoft changed the default desktop location to...

Create a desktop folder using Javascript

You are correct. The FileSystemObject "CreateFolder" method works perfectly. My next step and final step is to enable the end user to add this folder to their Windows 7 desktop using an IE browser on a trusted intranet site. Any ideas?

    CD Recorders?!?

Do you have a DVD drive already? If not, I recommend a combo drive (cdw+rw & DVD read only) for about $99. Or, for a little more money a DVD+RW would be a nice investment. I've had Sony, Toshiba, MicroSolutions, and Samsung drives. I've had good luck w/ all of them.

Can I select query results to populate a form?

If I understand you correctly, you would like to be able to select unique classes within your registration form based on your query results. One way to do this is to change your query to a make table query. After access (run query) has successfully created your table using your query criteria...

    DX9

I should have mentioned this; the warm boot works fine after a Safe Boot. So, I disabled all services except those that run in Safe Boot mode, but it still hangs at POST after a normal boot w/ services disabled. This would lead me to believe it's not a video card problem. Am I correct?

    DX9

You asked if anyone else was experiencing freezes w/ directx9. I recently installed an ATI Radeon 9500Pro AGP card. Everything was working fine until I downloaded/installed DirectX9a from the Windows XP Update site. Now my computer hangs at the power on self-test (POST), but only after I...
