As long as you have the section breaks in your document, you can insert such a footer by using field codes. In the footer, go to Insert, Field, and select "Section". Type a period, then go to Insert, Field, and select "Page". On your header/footer toolbar, make sure that...
What version of Office/Word are you running?
If it's 2000, you need to go to Tools, Macro, Security, and then put it on low I believe...don't have it in front of me.
Sure - or even easier - have a macro run when the user exits the last formfield:
Sub UnlinkFields()
If ActiveDocument.ProtectionType <> wdNoProtection Then
ActiveDocument.Unprotect Password:=""
End If
Selection.WholeStory
Selection.Fields.Unlink
Selection.HomeKey
End Sub
ladyck3 - thank you. One other thing I found was that if you're running XP - you need to go to Control Panel, Language and remove the Japanese language....odd but I hear it works!

I'm afraid your only option is to edit the registry then...
delete the data key for Word

What are you running? If it's 97, I believe there's a patch that needs to be loaded to correct this problem. Let me know and I'll try to find it for you.
Once the styles, etc. have been set up in your template, simply save it. Then do File, New, retrieve your template and it becomes a document you can rename with all your styles and formatting available for use.
The view default is usually connected with Word - not a document. So if you want your document to open at 100%, set it for 100%, close it and exit Word.
It sounds like the document is corrupt. You can try a couple things:
1. Save the file as a lower version of Word and reopen.
2. Insert the file into a blank document.
3. Copy the entire file, except that last paragraph marker, and paste into a new document.

It seems that when setting up your styles, your numbers became transposed...to fix them, change the 1 to an A or a bullet or something recognizable (Format Style, Modify, Format, Numbering, Customize)....and fix it from there...you can delete everything and then in the drop down box, list the...
I've been experiencing the same problem and here's what fixed it for us:
Start/Seetings/Printers/Properties/Printing Preferences/Advanced/ - under "Graphic"
change "True Type Font - Substitute with Device Font"
to
"True Type Font - Download as Softfont"
