This is probably a really stupid easy question, but I desperately need some help solving this one.
I have a document that has a numbering system as such:

Article 1 - Heading 1
1.1 - Heading 2
1.1.1 - Heading 3
a. - Heading 4
i) - Heading 5

All numbering in my document works great, except for the 1.1.1 heading. For example, the number following 5.4 heading 2 should be 5.4.1, but instead it shows it as 5.1.4. Also after following 7.2 I need 7.2.1 & 7.2.2 but it's showing 7.2.2 then 7.3.2. Help!!

It seems that when setting up your styles, your numbers became transposed...to fix them, change the 1 to an A or a bullet or something recognizable (Format Style, Modify, Format, Numbering, Customize)....and fix it from there...you can delete everything and then in the drop down box, list the previous levels you want to attach.

Awesome! That pinpointed exactly where I was missing the information...list the previous level to attach. I didn't have the correct one selected. Thanks a ton!
