    Brick-level Restore failing...

Had similar problems a few months ago. Firstly need to be sure that you have the correct Exchange Backup Agent installed. Uninstall the Backup Agent for Exchange on the Exchange server and then download service pack 3 of ARCserve 2000 from the Url given below...

    Invalid Domain Name Packet

Just recieved the same messages in my DNS logs, and it seems they are coming from Internet root servers. As yet, I have not had any problems with Internet access, since I'm using it here. Other websites indicate people recieving the same warnings, but that they are not threatning.

Outlook requesting information from the offlined exchange server.

A long shot, but it could be a profile issue in that the old Exchange settings are stored and being used. Try, logging on as a new user with accesss to your email box, and then access and test your new email server. To be completely sure, just shut down the old Exchange 5.5 server until you...

Different btw stardard 2003 and advance 2003 server

With the spec of the server you have just specified, I would install the Advanced 2003 Edition purely based on the fact that you have 4GB of Memory. I think there is a limit of 4GB on the Standard server, so installing Advanced would at least give you the option to add more memory in the future.

Need to decommission first DC in windows 2000 domain

Everything I read, and everyone I have spoken to indicates this process is possible, however I haven’t yet tried it, as I want to be absolutely sure it will work. I have manually transferred the 5 FSMO roles, GC and DNS to my new server, and tried to make the old root server as obsolete as...

Need to decommission first DC in windows 2000 domain

My DHCP is being serviced by a seperate Member server and is authorised in my AD. I am little unsure of what you mean by deligating control of the zone to the new DC. All I have done on DNS is join the new server as an AD intergrated DNS and I have ensured replication is set, and DDNS is...

Need to decommission first DC in windows 2000 domain

I recently had to do a rush NT4 to W2k migration in order to rebuild our email system on Exchange 2000. In order to upgrade from NT4, I was forced to use an adequate desktop build it as a NT4 BDC, promote to PDC, synchronised Domain, then upgrade to W2K AD. From here I was then able to build...

Arcserve 2000 Backup Agent for Exchange 2000

Thanks for all advice. Installing agent from SP3 then applying SP4 has done the job. Checked the registry, and it looks a whole more like its for an Exchange 2000 server. Backups now working fine, as long as I use the correct backup agent account in the security tab of the Exchange Database.

Arcserve 2000 Backup Agent for Exchange 2000

Thanks for the heads up on SP3 making the Backup Agent for Exchange compatible with Exch2k. Followed the instructions, and it now works. You are right CA's instructions are a bit ambiguous. Important note for anyone trying to install the DBA.Exchange Agent from SP3, make sure you open the...

Arcserve 2000 Backup Agent for Exchange 2000

Seen alot of people with similar problems, so thought I should start my own thread to see if there is any reliable solution to my current problem. Recently had to recover my Exchange 5.5 site, and as a result upgraded to Exchange 2000. I was informed by CA to apply SP4 to my Arcserve 2000...

    Exchange 2000 agent installation

Hi I am having the exact same problems. Just upgraded to Exchange 2000, installed the Backup Agent for Exchange as requested by ca, then applied SP4. Now it seems I can see all Exchange 2000 items at the Brick Level, but when selecting the database level, there is nothing to display. In...
