My organization is running in mixed mode.
An Exchange 5.5 and an Exchange 2000.
I am preparing to remove the exchange 5.5 from the organization.
I moved all the mail boxes, public folders, system folders, etc...
to the Exchange 2000 server, then I shutdown the Exchange 5.5
for testing.

My mailbox resides on the E2K server, when I use outlook as the
client, I would like to check the folder size of my mailbox. Therefore
I right-click "Outlook Today - [Mailbox - Steven Tse]" and select
properties. It works fine. However, if I right-click any subfolders
under my mailbox and select properties, a message box would pop
up saying that it is requesting information from the 5.5 server.
I wonder why would this happen.

Because of this issue, I cannot decide to remove the 5.5 server.
Please, if anyone could help me on this. Thank you.

A long shot, but it could be a profile issue in that the old Exchange settings are stored and being used. Try, logging on as a new user with accesss to your email box, and then access and test your new email server. To be completely sure, just shut down the old Exchange 5.5 server until you are sure its all working.

I have had similar problems in migrating, and its amazing how Outlook likes to remember the old email details in the registry.

There is exe on the Office 2003 CD called proflwiz.exe which can be used to clean user settings from registry for your Outlook client. It may be worth investigating.

Thanks for your suggestion, but the profile wizard does not work for me. Anyway, you gave me a clue. I uninstalled Outlook. Then I reinstall Outlook and it turns out that the problem is gone.
