It has been nearly a year since the last post. I have upgraded the Citrix server to Metaframe XP since that time. The read failure error has not stopped. I believe it has to do with an untimely disconnection and the program portion that is in the virtual registry of the user who is affected gets...
I am using GM 6.5 in a W2k environment with Citrix 1.8 and I occasionally get the same error. It can happen with 2 or 10 Citrix users logged in. I have adequate resources and have all the latest patches. I have had the error happen without having any anti-virus process running.
Just a glitch...
Thanks. That is exactly what I wanted to hear. I do have plans to upgrade the workstations in the future, but for now, it just needs to be operational albeit sans support from FRS.
Thanks again for the confirmation.
I have not seen this subject yet and am interested if anyone has done the following successfully:
I want to upgrade my GM 5.5 to 6.5. It currently resides on a W2k server so there should be no porblem there.
All my users are running NT4.0 sp6.
NT4.0 was not listed as a supported OS on the...
chris1603,
Do you have more than one user logging in to Citrix with the same user account?
I am curious about this because I do. I am trying to get away from this but am stuck at the moment and have to leave things as they are regarding this account. If this is the case, it may be tying into...
I made a modification to my GM.ini file that is located on the Citrix server. It points all GM functionalitiy and BDE config. to the app server that the Goldmine main installation is on. Here are the lines I added...
I am not running either, however, I do have Pervasive SQL 2000 running on the Citrix server so I can run BusinessWorks Gold on the Citrix server as a front end app.
I have not seen a common connection between BWGold and GM as far as errors are concerned.
This does bring up a good question...
Just an update to whoever may read this. I am still getting the errors, they seem to be related to unplanned disconnects of citrix sessions, but I can't find the common denominator.
I have increased all the registry settings having to do with tcp keepalives, etc... but this still happens. It...
Have you given full access for domain users to the Goldmine folder on the SQL server? also make sure there are no Group policies that may conflict with users permissions. Sometimes high security templates can jinx the works too.
I am the Net. admin for a company that uses GM 5.5 on CItrix Metaframe 1.8 on a W2k SP3 server. GM is installed on a seperate App. server(W2k SP3). Some of our Citrix users have received the following error when trying to access GM and the only way to clear it is by terminating all GM sessions...
I have seen this problem with other programs. The solution is to uninstall the app(MS pro 2k) and remove the borland folder then re-install the app. I am not sure what adverse effect this will have for GM 5.5, however.
It may be required to re-install GM again depending on if it is locally...
Ok, try this. Log in to the W2k workstation as administrator. Make sure you have chosen to show all files in the folder options dialogue. Make sure you have a drive mapped to the GM directory on the server.
--I really hope this one helps.
In my own experience, I have solved some issues between W2k workstations and NT4.0 servers by installing the front end on the workstation. I think it is the same procedure in GM 4.0 as GM 5.0(which I use).
Make sure you have a mapped drive to the Goldmine directory on the server.
Log in to GM...
