I am running ARCserve 661 SP2a, with NT4 SP6a. I am trying to backup a SQL database through the SQL agent and receive an error message every time. The message I receive is,
"E8604 - Failed to start backup. (DBNAME = <dbname>. EC = backup agent error - (117) 'Configured value of Backup...
Using the exchange and SQL agent I receive the following errors...
--->"AW0000 skip share or invalid volume <sql & exchange agent name>"
--->Sometimes the AW0000 changes to AE0000. Which also doesn't help and cannot find fixes or work arounds.
I can do a manual backup of the exchange...
This may work I am not sure, I haven’t tried it yet to be honest but I got it from CA's site. To see if the agent is responding go to a DOS Prompt to the machine where the client agent is installed and type in:
--->telnet <agent IP address>6050<agent port address>.
If a telnet box pops up then...
I am trying to back up exchange from a non-exchange server and am having trouble with a couple of users mail items. It seems that it cannot connect to the users folders, but only like 4 out of the 60 odd people we have working here. The error message I get is:
--> 8602: Failed to read from...
---> I am receiving this error message from one of our backup devices, it is an Exabyte EZ17-LVD. The error message is:
AE0059 Root Directory (\\\) is invalid.
---> And that is all I get from the error message. I can restore other things from that tape, but this one session is giving me a...
I have successfully restored a public folder from ArcServeIT 6.61 SP2, it says that I have successfully restored it. I chose to restore the file to its original location but after restoring it multiple times (3), the folder is not full of what used to be in there. I do not understand, if...
I also have one more thing to ask, when I am restoring or backing up should I be logged into machine as the dbagent or as something else, like a backup operator, admin, domain admin or myself. I have tried all of them though and none of them seem to work.
I am glad that you took a deep breath. I have two servers that are backing up exchange. One is on the exchange server and one a separate server. Both have ArcServeIT6.61 with service pack 2, and backup agent 2. All servers are in the same domain, and all service packs and patches are...
----->I need to get my ODBC to open up to an Access database. But the error message I receive says that the ODBC cannot connect to a Microsoft Jet or ISAM database. I get the error message 3423 or more specifically, "you cannot use ODBC to import from, export to, or link an external...
--> i was wondering if ShawnL was able to find out what the problem is. I am having the same exact problem and have used every tip from support on ca's site. and to no avail cannot figure it out. I have tried the same remedies and they haven't worked.

I am running a reporting application from visual basic and when I try to run this app on a new computer that I have ghosted, I get the following error message.
---->You cannot use ODBC to import from, export to, or link an external Microsoft Jet or ISAM database table to your database. (Error...
I get the same error message, the 3703 unable to logon. I can still back up and restore, though they are both tricky and have days when they do not want to work. I have entered and re-entered the session password and restore password, but when i check the logs, this error always happens. Any...
