If you just want to work offline with Outlook Express,instead of closing it you can go to the file menu and choose Work Offline. Hope this is what you mean.

I have a Dell Dimension L866R that recently started to lose time on the PC Clock. It appears to lose about 4 - 5 minutes in a month. Any idea as to a cause and what can be done to correct it? The system is just over 2 years old.

Thanks, I will look into that. The scanner default is 200 dpi. In Word it appears that the default font is Times New Roman with a size of 12. Not sure however what that equates to in dpi.
