    Small Business Server Help

No I've looked. Actually, I've found out that in SBS 2000, SBS copies the shortcut links to the user's desktops on login. This feature is apparently hard coded into SBS 2000 and is a feature that has been removed in SBS 2003. Thanks anyway.

    remote home folders

Xythos could be an option. I knew a client that used Xythos to setup a "M" drive for all the users. Then setup sychronization of their M Drive to the user's local PC. Good luck.

    Applying Group Policy to Groups

I don't think so. I think the GP only applies to the AD Objects under that OU. I could be wrong though.

    Small Business Server Help

I'm new to SBS. I'm trying to figure out how I can remove the desktop shortcuts that get created when an new user logs in for the first time on a workstation. We use roaming profiles as well. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but anytime someone logs in a "Company" and...

    metadevice questions

I'd check your state db's. Run metadb -i and look at which devices are in use for your state databases. Also run metastat to see what devices that are registered. When disks in your metadevices have updated in the past, perhaps the disks that you added were from a different controller. Then...

    Remote Server Management

Does anyone know of any tools which will allow me to remotely execute commands securely to muliple Sun boxes simultaneously? Sort of like fanout but better. Something preferrably which can be installed and run from Windows. I have over 200 Sun servers. When I have to create accounts or...

    Exchange Email Resolution Problem

I have a problem with Exchange resolving secondary email addresses to an accounts primary address. If I have an account with multiple email addresses, whenever anyone from outside the same storage group sends an email to one of the secondary addresses, the email comes to the client resolved to...

My email address is jdyer@elemica.com. If you could please send me your article. I would like to give it a shot. Thanks for your input. We are rolling out Windows 2003 Server first quarter next year so we may incorporate this strategy into the upgrade. Jeff

EAP-FAST and Windows 2000 Server Support

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I don't want to have to enter in all the logins on the AP. I want to try to avoid upgrading AP's as well. I will if I have to though. Using the VPN Client to authenticate isn't a bad idea. I can try that. Thanks again.

EAP-FAST and Windows 2000 Server Support

I wasn't sure if I should put this in the Microsoft forums or in the Cisco forums, but here goes... I have a wireless access point that I'm trying to get to communicate with a radius server running on my Windows 2000 Advanced Server Domain Controller. I tried configuring the radius server and...

Outlook 2000 using POP3 to pull mail from Exchange 2000

The actual message is: "The POP3 server name you specified cannot be found. Please check the name and try again" This pops up every morning when I come into the office. I'm assuming something overnight is causing the connection to timeout just long enough for the POP3 connection to error out...

Symantec AVF marked a file for deletion...I need that file..pls help

You should be able to use your Norton Antivirus for Exchange web utility and release the file to file system. Once you release to file system you have to pick the file up off of the exchange server where you've specified for released files to go. I think by default Symantec uses...

I've got an account that is configured to use Internet Email - POP3 to pull email from my Exchange Server (2000). The setup works properly to an extent. It gets the email and sends to the specified smtp relay server. The configuration of POP is to pull email every 1 minute from the exchange...

    Exchange Email Resolution Problem

I've figured out the problem and why Exchange has been resolving the emails to the account's primary email address. Those that had mailboxes located in the same storage group as the Magic Account's mailbox all worked fine. Those individuals that had mailboxes located within a different storage...
