    Outlook Offline settings disappeared

No joy. Followed your instructions, but when I recreate the profile, it doesn't ask you whether you travel with the computer - and the advanced properties of the Exchange Server have nothing below Logon Network Security. Jemima

    Outlook Offline settings disappeared

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook. No joy either. And if I open that user's mailbox on my machine, I can work with it offline... I give up!! Jemima

    Outlook Offline settings disappeared

Followed instructions above, but no cigar. I'm now re-installing Outlook to see if that works. Will post whether it does or not. Jemima

    time server problem

I've set up my PDC emulator pointing to an external time server, and checked that via w32tm and it is working OK. If I type net time /querysntp it gives me the correct external time server. But if I type net time I get the time as of another internal server - why? This also happens from other...

Thanks JP. Tried that, no deal. Jemima

    Outlook Offline settings disappeared

I have a user whose Outlook Offline settings have disappeared. If I go Tools, Options, Mail Services, there is nothing about offline files. If I go to Tools, Services, properties of the Exchange Server, Advanced, there is no tick box for 'enable offline use' I don't see that either if I go...

    If combined with VLookup

Not sure if this is what you want, but I might try this: =IF(AND(A1=C1,B1=D1),"Same","Not same") Any good?

    Re-arrange spreadsheet data

The only way you're going to get any way near this is to transpose - copy the data, edit, paste special, and click the transpose check box. But it's not going to do exactly what you want.... Don't do this on live data!!

    DFS for failover?

Anyone tried using DFS as a failover solution? This would be for users writing to data, not just read-only material. Does DFS replicate quickly enough? Even if the data was local? Should I be looking at a commercial product - Neverfail, Doubletake? any recommendations? Thanks, Jemima

DFS - standalone vs domain based

Thanks, Siddharth - that's really helpful. Jemima

DFS - standalone vs domain based

We currently have standalone DFS set up on an NT4 server in our W2K domain. We would like to supercede this with domain-based DFS. Does anyone know whether we can we have both running at the same time, so I can play around with it before we move? Jemima

Time difference between client and server

Nope, didn't try that because I'm too dense for words. Or I could have tried undocking my laptop and doing it offline. Ended up running sysprep...

Time difference between client and server

When I try to login on my laptop I get the message that I can't logon because: There is a time difference between the cleint and server. Fine, so I just reset the system time. But by group policy changing the system time is only allowed to administrators of the domain - I can't do that logged...

    Share is not accessible

The shares on one of our servers have become inaccessable to some of our users. The error message is 'the network share is not accessible'. Permissions are full control for everyone. However, users on W2K machines can access the shares no problem, just the NT4 machines that have a problem...

    Email subscriptions

At the moment, we use agents on Exchange 5.5 to alert users when email arrives in a public folder for a particular job. I am wondering whether Sharepoint would do this for us? Is it a bit overkill if we just used it for that? Does anyone know of another solution which does this? Jemima

    Sites and Services info

I am getting errors all over the place about my site replication, and I don't know where to start. Anyone point me to some useful info about this? Preferably which says why to do something not just how. I have a (new) mixed W2K network with four offices, which I think should/could/might be sites

Replication between two servers in same site

We have two servers in one site. I have just set up the second server. What kind of replication can I expect between the two servers? I was expecting the servers to replicate everything, so if I turn one server off, the users continue without noticing - or at least, start using the other...

    Computer is in Administrator's group

I have a test set up with 1 workstation and 1 server, both W2K. The computer part of the GPO doesn't apply to the workstation, whatever the user. I ran gpresult, and in the listings of group membership, the computer is in the BUILTIN\Administrator's group. If I apply the GPO to the...

    Monitoring Workstations Remotely

IANAL, but concerning the legality of this, please clarify the country for which you are making legal suggestions. I believe e.g UK an US law differ in this area. See: http://news.zdnet.co.uk/story/0,,t281-s2135870,00.html Jemima

    Group Policy error

I look in the Builtin\administrator's group, and I do not see the computer. But gpresult thinks it is there. I can't move it if it isn't there! Jemima
