I have a user whose Outlook Offline settings have disappeared.

If I go Tools, Options, Mail Services, there is nothing about offline files.

If I go to Tools, Services, properties of the Exchange Server, Advanced, there is no tick box for 'enable offline use' I don't see that either if I go via Control Panel, Email.

Terminal Services is not installed on the machine.

Hi,
Run a full scan on the PC and recreat the outlook profile on the machine.

Thanks JP.

Tried that, no deal.

Hi,
Okay,
Do a search on the machine for *.ost
These are the offline folders. If u find any delete them, then recreate the profile again, u should be able to creat the offline folder.
THese files are usually in the outlook data folder.
Can u get back to me once u have tried this.
Thanks
JP

Followed instructions above, but no cigar.

I'm now re-installing Outlook to see if that works.

Will post whether it does or not.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook. No joy either.

And if I open that user's mailbox on my machine, I can work with it offline...

I give up!!

Jemima

Okay,
I am almost sure I was along the correct lines earlier on but maybe I got the filename wrong. Its got to do with the fact that there is already an offline folder created on the users laptop, which is why it isnt giving u the option of setting it up again.
Delete the profile entirely.
Make sure outlook is closed. Delete the outlook profile.
delete the contents of
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
And also delete all in :
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
Recreate the outlook profile.
Please let me know how you get on.

No joy. Followed your instructions, but when I recreate the profile, it doesn't ask you whether you travel with the computer - and the advanced properties of the Exchange Server have nothing below Logon Network Security.

Hi,
I am sorry that the above isnt working.
I have done extensive research on this problem and am at a loss.
Here are some links where I took my attempts from:

Apologies but thats all I can do.
If u do find the solution I would be grateful if u could post it here,
Thanks
