    using lmktemp

    Check the fsize setting for the ID you are using lsuser -f userid. You may need to change it to -1 allowing you to create files of unlimited sizes. The default is 1 GB. Also if the filesystem is built on jfs it has to be large file enabled.

    TCP/IP Timeout configuration

    We had gone to ML5 and that was our only problem. We were able to install only the APAR. Download it and preview the install, if it doesn't ask for prereq's you should be ok.

    TCP/IP Timeout configuration

    You may need to look at APAR IY89429, this is a fix to bos.net.tcp.client which broke some time after ML3 and is still in error in ML5. The APAR will upgrade the bos.net.tcp.client to 5.3.0.54. This fixed problems we had with timeouts/keepalive issues to Sybase and UDB databases.

    AIX 5.3 from 64 bit to 32 bit

    Go to the PSeries information center and search on 64bit. You can change from 64Bit to 32Bit and back again without difficulty. You can still build your machines the same way and then switch to 32Bit. Just be sure you are not running applications which require a 64Bit kernel when you change to...

    Have you installed anything new on the PC that may have upset the shared library search path. If you run a set command are the references for SYBASE pointing to the correct directories? Have you done a find to see if you have more than one libintl.dll on the PC? Can you reinstall the Open Client?

    umask for maestro

    You could try setting the umask for the tws userid on the server, for us its twsuser (id used to install TWS) We found it controlled the ulimits settings which over rode the ulimits settings for the ID running the jobs.
